After Hearing the Adhan Dua

The Dua after Hearing the Adhan (Call to Prayer) is a beautiful supplication that every Muslim is encouraged to recite after listening to the Adhan. It is a way to seek blessings for the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and to ask Allah for his intercession on the Day of Judgment.

The Dua After Hearing the Adhan

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّداً الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ، إَنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ

Transliteration:

Allahumma Rabba hadhihi ad-da’wati at-taammah, was-salatil-qa’imah, aati Muhammadan al-waseelata wal-fadeelah, wab’ath-hu maqaman mahmoodan alladhi wa’adtah, innaka la tukhliful mee’aad.

English Translation:

“O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the established prayer, grant Muhammad ﷺ the intercession and favor, and raise him to the honored station You have promised him. Indeed, You do not break Your promise.”

Significance of the Adhan Dua

1. Reward and Intercession

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever hears the Adhan and then says this dua, my intercession will be permitted for him on the Day of Judgment.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari: 614)

This shows the great virtue and reward attached to reciting this dua sincerely after hearing the call to prayer.


2. Strengthens Faith and Connection
